EPSON PM-A890 - Scanner Works

I got some spare time to setting up scanner driver for this Epson all-in-one (PM-A890)

Before I forget.. these are the step I took to configure the scanner.
(Test system - Ubuntu Hardy)Make sure you have the latest libusb.

1.Install sane
#apt-get install sane sane-utils libsane-extras
2.Power up the printer & connect it to the computer
3.Try to detect the printer
#sane-find-scanner
found USB scanner (vendor=0x04b8, product=0x081c) at libusb:003:004

4.Scanner was detected.Check if it is supported by SANE
#scanimage -L
device `epkowa:libusb:003:005' is a Epson PM-A890 flatbed scanner
5.Scanner supported. :-P

To do list

  1. Configure CUPS ..last time: failed to print(endless printing loop)
  2. Setting up this PM-A890 as network printer & scanner.
  3. Find some small USB&WLAN device to be hacked and used it as print server.
    • Small router will be such candidates. I got unused fonera hanging around but it has no USB port.
    • Use the device GPIO as PM-A890 power swicth (Internet switch).So I can powered up the device remotely.

    未納の車税

    2ヶ月前に自車が車検切れのため、廃車した。
    その後、H20年度の自動車税納税通知書が来た。
    中に、ビックリするぐらい額の車税だった。
    数日間だけ使ったのに、なぜ全額？
    とりあえず、ほっと置いた。

    忙しい日々で、すっかり忘れてしまった。
    で、数日前自動車税減額通知書が届きました。

    廃車により車税が減額されたという通知だった。
    やった！

    かたよった

    自分にとって当たり前すぎることが、
    他人にとって当たり前ことではなっかた。

    逆に、他人にとって当たり前すぎることが、
    自分にとっていかに当たり前のことでもなかった。

    自分は何を見てここまで来たのか、
    ここから先どの道に歩んで行くのか

    年齢と経験を重ねるほどに、
    その差が消えないものではないでしょう。
